American Capital is distinguished by its system for selecting, monitoring, and replacing no-load mutual funds in your portfolio. To identify the best no-load funds available, we maintain a comprehensive performance database of more than 9,000 equity, fixed income and money market mutual funds. Of the funds we monitor, most are no-load mutual funds available to individual and qualified plan investors.

To take the guesswork out of fund selection, we invest your assets with funds which meet strict performance criteria. They must be no-load or be able to be purchased without a sales charge. Their investment decisions must be guided by a firmly established investment philosophy. And, they must have generated superior returns relative to funds with a similar style over an investment cycle.

After we select top performing no-load mutual funds for your portfolio, you can rest easy while the funds are carefully monitored to ensure that they continue to meet our performance standards. Because the winners of yesterday are not always the winners of tomorrow, we also determine when funds in your portfolio should be removed due to underperformance. This disciplined approach takes the emotion out of this process by providing a clearly defined set of criteria for replacing funds when appropriate.

To diversify your portfolio and further reduce risk, the typical Asset Allocation Strategy distributes your assets between eight to ten no-load mutual funds. Although we are not tied to any mutual fund or group, your portfolio will include some of the country's most successful no-load mutual fund families, such as:

- INVESCO Funds Group - T. Rowe Price - Janus Funds - Baron Funds

- Montgomery Funds - Benham Funds - SoGen Funds - Dreyfus Funds

- Federated Fund Group - Berger Funds - Founders Funds - American Century

- RYDEX Funds - Montgomery - Rainier Funds - Robertson Stevens - Oakmark

  and many others.
